The devastating news of the Kakhovka Dam flooding has seen reports of the displacement of landmines in the area.
Having swept across a large area in the flood, landmines and explosives are now dislodged and incredibly challenging to locate. With catastrophic flooding on the scale we are witnessing, there is an acute danger in Ukraine.
Our risk education sessions teach people how to stay safe when clearance is not immediately possible. In unprecedented disasters such as the Kakhovka Dam flooding, our risk education sessions are more important than ever so communities and children know what to look for and how to report it.
